Agradezco profundamente la ayuda de Miguel A. Vives Heyliger (Papo Vives), quien no sólo conoce al dedillo la flora de Puerto Rico, sino que comparte su conocimiento con un desprendimiento poco común. Las monumentales obras Árboles comunes de Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes, y Árboles de Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes, se consultaron a diario. Se consultaron también muchas publicaciones disponibles a través de Google book search e infinidad de páginas de Internet, incluyendo la excelente Wikipedia. La lista de plantas del preparada por Carlos Figueroa a finales de los años 80 fue la principal fuente de información sobre la historia de las plantas del recinto.
